Children’s Wellness Tea

A sweet and delicious blend of calming and cooling herbs.

Product Description

A delicious and healthy beverage alternative that your kids will drink up. Imagine being able to give your children something healthy, sweet and great tasting that is not only refreshing but also fills their cups with vitamins, minerals and the healing compounds these plants are known for.

We grow our plants—most from seed—hand-harvest, and dry with intention. We offer them to you in their pure form to help support the body’s natural healing ability.

We chose to include the dried leaves of the Stevia plant in our Children’s Wellness blend. This is not the highly processed, white-powdered version of Stevia available in the grocery stores. We grow, harvest and cure our Stevia plants in solar dehydrators and use the dried Stevia as a naturally sugar-free, sweetener in the Children’s Wellness tea. Stevia is assuredly kid approved. See for yourself.

The calming and cooling effects of Lemon Balm and Blue Vervain are paired with Gotu Kola to help the body combat cold and flu. Gotu kola is an herb known to aid in memory and cognitive function as well, which is helpful for our children in the overstimulating world in which we live. These herbs also work together to help suppress cough and break fever while strengthening the immune system. These herbs are calming, but not sedating.

Let’s not forget Tulsi. We believe everyone needs Tulsi in their lives. Every household in India is said to have a Tulsi plant. It is no wonder with a list of uses like this: protects the heart, anti-oxidant, anti-carcinogenic, purifies the blood, lowers blood sugar, beats fevers, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, cough suppressant and expectorant.

The Children Wellness tea can be brewed hot, served warm or chilled any time of day. It is healthy, naturally sweet and kid approved.

Hot Tea

All of our teas are herbal. They do not become bitter with extended brewing times and are therefore very forgiving of the brewing process. The teas can be brewed more than once, up to 3 times. It will become slightly weaker in flavor each time.

  1. Use about a teaspoon of loose tea per 8oz / 240ml of water.
  2. Place loose tea in your teapot, cup, or use the infuser of your choice.
  3. Pour freshly boiled, but not boiling, water over your tea. Water temperature should be about 208º F. / 98º C.
  4. Steep tea for 5-8 minutes. Longer steeping times will result in stronger tea.
  5. Remove your tea infuser. If not using an infuser, strain your tea and enjoy.
  6. Once you’ve finished your tea, steep the leaves again until the flavor is exhausted.
  7. Leftover hot tea can be strained into a glass container, sealed and kept in the refrigerator to enjoy as cold tea later.

Iced TEA
To make about a quart or liter of iced tea:

  1. Add 6 teaspoons of loose tea to a teapot.
  2. Pour about 2 cups / half liter of freshly boiled, but not boiling, water over your tea. Water temperature should be about 208º F. / 98º C.
    Steep tea for 5-8 minutes.
  3. While tea is steeping, add 2 cups / half liter of cold filtered water to a pitcher.
  4. Pour the tea into the pitcher with the cold water straining out the tea.
  5. Fill the pitcher with ice.

Our herbal drink powders are a very finely ground tea. Some of the smaller particles will pass through your infuser and settle in the bottom of your cup. You may choose to either drink these for a little extra dosage, or discard. To minimize small tea particles in your cup, steep your tea in bags.
