    This tea outperformed any expectations I had. I collect “relaxing” teas and have tried so many. I enjoy the aromas and taste of most, but don’t necessarily notice that it helps me relax or become more sleepy before bed, which was fine with me. It was more of the ritual I enjoyed. I never expected a magical sleepy tea. This tea IS medicine. It’s tasty and smells beautiful, but mostly, I was shocked that it really eased me into the most restful sleeps I’ve had in years. I usually get 7-8 hours of sleep, but never feel rested. My husband even commented on my energy levels over the last week, because instead of dragging in the morning, I was taking on my to-do list, happy and energetic (with no caffeine kick-starter). It’s this tea! I was so relaxed I slipped into sleep like a relaxing bath and no restlessness. It’s amazing how QUALITY of sleep makes such a huge difference in my day. Not only did I relax with no mind-racing at bedtime, I slept so soundly, I woke up with more energy on fewer hours of sleep some days. I’m telling all of my sleepless friends about this tea (which is pretty much everyone).

Hot Tea

All of our teas are herbal. They do not become bitter with extended brewing times and are therefore very forgiving of the brewing process. The teas can be brewed more than once, up to 3 times. It will become slightly weaker in flavor each time.

  1. Use about a teaspoon of loose tea per 8oz / 240ml of water.
  2. Place loose tea in your teapot, cup, or use the infuser of your choice.
  3. Pour freshly boiled, but not boiling, water over your tea. Water temperature should be about 208º F. / 98º C.
  4. Steep tea for 5-8 minutes. Longer steeping times will result in stronger tea.
  5. Remove your tea infuser. If not using an infuser, strain your tea and enjoy.
  6. Once you’ve finished your tea, steep the leaves again until the flavor is exhausted.
  7. Leftover hot tea can be strained into a glass container, sealed and kept in the refrigerator to enjoy as cold tea later. 

Iced TEA
To make about a quart or liter of iced tea:

  1. Add 6 teaspoons of loose tea to a teapot.
  2. Pour about 2 cups / half liter of freshly boiled, but not boiling, water over your tea. Water temperature should be about 208º F. / 98º C.
    Steep tea for 5-8 minutes.
  3. While tea is steeping, add 2 cups / half liter of cold filtered water to a pitcher.
  4. Pour the tea into the pitcher with the cold water straining out the tea.
  5. Fill the pitcher with ice.

Our herbal drink powders are a very finely ground tea. Some of the smaller particles will pass through your infuser and settle in the bottom of your cup. You may choose to either drink these for a little extra dosage, or discard. To minimize small tea particles in your cup, steep your tea in bags.
